Our friendly neighborhood reporter, Tom Henderson, is at it again. This time, he’s sharing with us very exciting news about highly anticipated EA games. According to his sources, the sports games company will reveal a new FIFA and Need for Speed in July.
We knew officially from EA that this year they wouldn’t launch an IP; instead, they will give the big announcement when any of their projects are ready. But according to Henderson’s discovery, the exact dates for every game reveal still not confirmed, but FIFA and Need for Speed announcements could happen in the second half of the month.
EA is set to reveal the new Need for Speed, FIFA 23, and Skate 4 in July, sources have suggested.

From what Tom Henderson has shared, it looks like this year’s Need for Speed title will be different from past titles. For example, the character design could look like the one on The Boondocks TV series. An anime-type of racing game? Sounds nice. Although he can’t yet confirm the game’s name, the title Need for Speed: Unbound has been roaming around, but it’s currently unclear if that is the codename.
There has been a lot going on regarding the FIFA title because, as we know, this will be the last IP from the franchise as we know it. After FIFA 23, we will get a brand-new gaming experience. For now, Henderson has shared that both the men’s and women’s World Cups will be coming to the upcoming game, with the addition of cross-play to make this unified experience a reality.
Remember that in May, EA announced: “a new era in July 2023” with the introduction of its EA Sports FC title. Nevertheless, it’s unclear where FIFA will take the franchise after its EA deal expires. Henderson aims for the most obvious choice: Konami. But, in the end, these are all rumors, and even though we know that Henderson’s sources tend to be accurate, we’ll have to wait and find out more in the upcoming weeks.
