Although today the mobile market is essential for many companies, this was not the case in the past. In this way, a new look at BioShock 3D was recently released, an adaptation of the classic 2007 title for mobile devices at the time.
In 2010, the studio known as Studio Tridev released the first four levels of BioShock 3D, a long-forgotten adaptation of the beloved sci-fi adventure series on mobile devices from Verizon. Although the initial plan was to include the entire game, this was not possible, and part of the project was canceled. However, and to the surprise of many, gameplay recently emerged from content that was removed.
In the original iteration of the game, only the first four levels of were available; Welcome to Rapture, Medical Pavilion, Neptune’s Bounty, and Smuggler’s Hideout. While a second half was planned, this was never officially released, leaving the story of the game unfinished on mobile devices.
Although you might think that this material is fake, TheGamer contacted Poornima Seetharaman, ex-Studio Tridev developer, who confirmed that this video does show content that was originally going to be part of BioShock 3D. This project was not trying to give us something new, but rather an adaptation of Irrational Games' work, something that sounded impossible at the time.
In response to a comment in the video, KrZ One explained that they got the footage directly from an x86 development version of the game, meaning that they have access to a version that is not currently available to the public, which means this is quite an interesting piece of gaming history.
