Released worldwide in March 2020, Persona 5: Royal is the extended and improved version of the successful Japanese role-playing video game produced by Atlus for consoles.
Royal continues to tell us an epic story in which a group of teenage students will have to face a supernatural threat thanks to their Persona, featuring new areas, characters, music, better graphics, and playable features and enhances the experience from the 2016 title Persona 5.
The game will release on PS5, Xbox Series One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 21, 2022, but reported by VGC, in a FAQ on the game’s official website, publisher Atlus responded to the question about being able to play the PS4 version of the game on PS5, to which they replied that owners who want to play Royal on the new-gen console need to purchase it again.
“We are sorry, but there are no products for PlayStation 4 purchasers of Persona 5 Royal for this title,” reads a translation. ''We would appreciate it if you could purchase the game for PlayStation 5.”
In addition to this fifth installment with its different extras, both Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will land on Xbox, PC, and PS5 in 2023.
As we could expect, some users took Twitter to complain about Atlus's decision, and the memes are already spreading through the platform.

Persona 5 Royal port on PS5 with no way to upgrade from the PS4, and a "We'd appreciate it if you buy it again" response from Atlus? Not so nice.
Appreciate it? the way they word it, it sounds like if it was up to atlus they would disable the ability to play Persona 5 royal on ps5
