Weeks pass, and despite revenues that have exceeded 50 million dollars in 30 days, Diablo Immortal is regularly the object of the ire of players. Economic model, pay-to-win aspect, bugs, compensations, and rewards deemed too low; and most recently, an XP loss.
In a July 23 Reddit post spotted by PCGamesN, a Blizzard community lead recognized the problem, which resulted in XP in various Battle Pass tasks not being rewarded to players.
“There was a hotfix to address this and the team is going through to calculate each individuals lost XP through the time periods affected by this bug,” they wrote. “We have this data. The XP will be delivered once we go through the data.”
Diablo compensated its players through the intermediary of objects offered, but this was arguably largely insufficient, given the time invested. In addition, the compensation was different from one player to another.
Millions of XP points are lost due to a bug
The problem prevents players from claiming the experience points acquired by leveling up. Some players said that they lost several million. The animation appears to work, but the XP is not adding.
Reddit user The-Crawling-Chaos took Reddit to speak about this issue: ''There was a post by a community manager that said the Battle Pass XP bug was hot fixed. I just leveled my Battle Pass up after the weekly reset and I did not receive any XP for doing so.''
“This is at least the third level that I have not received any XP for now. This is such a major bug, and it is incredibly disappointing Blizzard has not corrected it yet (or any of the other major bugs for that matter).”
Blizzard didn't set a deadline for recovering lost points nor commented on the fact that the bug still seems to occur for some players.
Diablo Immortal Season 2 and the game’s latest Battle Pass launched on July 7 for PC, Android, and iOS.
