While thousands of people have already battled the fearsome Lady Dimitrescu and enjoyed all the horrors that Resident Evil Village has to offer, a section of the community was unable to do so due to their disabilities. Fortunately, a free update will add new features that hopefully allow a new audience to enjoy this adventure.
Through a Twitter post, Capcom announced that a patch that will add new accessibility options is on the way. We expect these options to release on October 28, the same day as the Shadows of Rose DLC and the Gold Edition of the video game will be available.
A free accessibility update for all Resident Evil Village users is coming alongside the Winters' Expansion and Gold Edition in October, adding:
— Resident Evil (@RE_Games) July 28, 2022
- Subtitle size, color & background toggles
- Speaker name display in story mode
- Closed captions
- Permanent reticle
Luckily, the Japanese company stated that these new features are free, meaning all Resident Evil Village users can use them without restrictions.
These options could have arrived when the game was released, but better late than never. Be that as it may, the new expansion will star Rose, the daughter of Ethan Winters.
It will be part of the Gold edition, which will also include the Mercenaries mode with the possibility of playing as Lady Dimitrescu, Karl Heisenberg, and more characters will form the new content arriving in October on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Pre-orders for the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, as well as the Winters Expansion digital upgrade pack, have gone live on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC through their website and will include an exclusive costume for Rose, which we will be able to see throughout the entire game: Shadows of Rose played entirely in third-person perspective.
Will you be using any of these new features? Let us know in the comments!
