Modders know that the sky is the limit when it comes to being creative. Their latest proof for it came from a group of Steam Deck enthusiasts. What have they done? Welp, they have figured out how to support gyro controls in Wii U emulation, effectively turning Valve's portable PC into Nintendo's infamous Wii U GamePad.
The Steam Deck fan team dedicates an entire website to helping others configure their consoles and set them up to get the most out of them in a personalized way. Luckily, this new mod came with a guide that explains step by step how to get your Steam Deck's gyro controls to work in Wii U emulation.
To portray the Steam Deck’s gyro functionality as a WiiU GamePad, the team in charge of the project shared via Twitter an example of this using it while running The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
We still got a bit more today! Here’s a little demo from our new guide coming out later…

The helpful video features a dual-screen setup and guides you on how to get that in place. The dual-screen configuration emulates the experience of having a Wii U console on your TV. The Steam Deck has proven to be the perfect fodder for emulation, and it's genuinely fantastic to testify how people are taking its use to another level.
