The VR industry is advancing by leaps and bounds, not only in gaming. Many projects are being developed for this industry that benefits many sectors of society.
PlayStation is one of the companies that has been very supportive of this technology, just as Meta has done an incredible job.
GI Live 2022 is taking place, and it was attended by the head of PlayStation's indie game support initiative, Shuhei Yoshida, to talk about the next-gen hardware that is on the way and how it will affect the market.
PLAYSTATION PRAISED WHAT META HAS DONE IN VIRTUAL REALITY
Something exciting is that in his talk, the director took the opportunity to recognize how Meta has promoted the scope of this technology through its hardware brand Meta Quest (formerly Oculus Quest).
"The VR market is small; it's still growing because Meta is doing a great job promoting the Quest, so more people are coming in and trying VR for the first time, but still, compared to the console game, it's a subcategory and a growing market," said the manager (via Video Games Chronicle).

Likewise, Yoshida took advantage of the space to mention that the indies will be essential in the next phase of virtual reality, since they will be the kind of titles that could take advantage of this technology the most compared to the great triple-A productions.
“There are great games like Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village, and yes, they are amazing, but it is the indie [developers] who, in my mind, take the risk because they want to make VR games,” said Yoshida, referring to that it is the indies who have been waiting for "the next VR boom."
