Good news everyone! After a long wait and seven months of complete silence the NieR: Automata anime produced by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures revealed its official release date along with more details on the production team, cast and more. This adaptation of the story of Yoko Taro's game was initially announced earlier this year and expectations are higher than ever but don’t worry you will be able to see it soon.
Will arrive sooner than expected…
To begin with, the Aniplex and A-1 Pictures production’s official name will be NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, as is usual in this industry this adaptation of the game's story has a few changes. Don’t panic! Yoko Taro is pretty involved in the project so this will not disappoint.
Now, the anime will premiere in January 2023, on an exact day yet to be confirmed, but hey! At least we are just some months away from it. On the other hand, the production is directed by Ryouji Masuyama, while the character design and animation supervision is in charge of Jun Nagai. As we mentioned before Yoko Taro was involved in the project as an organizer and last but not least the music for the series will be provided by MONACA.
Regarding the cast, Aniplex has confirmed the participation of several Japanese voice actors and actresses such as Yui Ishikawa who will voice 2B, Natsuki Hanae who will voice 9S, Hiroki Yasumoto (Pod 042) and Kaoru Akiyama (Pod 153). That is not all, in addition, the company also revealed two teasers of the project where we see the animation style and got the chance to listen to Ishikawa and Hanae as the key characters 2B and 9S.
As always you can explore the anime's official site to see some special character artwork, videos and more but remember the site is fully in Japanese.
