The case of the GTA 6 hacker still stands because last week, a 17-year-old British man was arrested by the UK police, allegedly for being linked to the Rockstar attack and the video game content leaks.
There has not been much information on how this case continues; neither has the young man's identity been revealed nor has his relationship with the Lapsu$ group, who had recently attacked Microsoft and Nvidia.
However, the region's authorities made a statement with a brief update on what is going on in the case. Thanks to the police and the UK's National Cyber Crime Unit, we know that the detainee visited court and is facing many charges, all of which are linked to cyber-attacks.
AUTHORITIES ACCUSE GTA 6 HACKER OF THESE CHARGES
Since his arrest on September 22, the 17-year-old has been in custody, as the investigation into the case is ongoing. The region's National Crime Agency and the National Cyber Crimes Unit linked him to various cyberattacks.
In a brief new statement, authorities added that the boy is charged with two counts of misuse of computers. So this weekend, he visited court as he violated the conditions for a possible bail. We know he was in Highbury Corner Juvenile Court, but no update on what happened has been given.
"City of London Police arrested a 17-year-old in Oxfordshire on Thursday 22nd September on suspicion of hacking, as part of an investigation supported by the National Crime Agency's National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU). NCA) has been charged in connection with this investigation and remains in police custody.
"The teenager has been charged with two counts of breach of bail conditions and two counts of computer misuse. He will appear in Highbury Corner Juvenile Court on Saturday, September 24, 2022," authorities said.
We know that the young man had already been arrested before, specifically in March 2022. Since then, his family has tried to keep him away from computers; however, the young man reoffended and violated the bail conditions. Neither authorities nor Rockstar has commented further on the case and its relationship to all the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks.
