Junji Ito is one of the pivotal authors of Japanese horror. He has been in the business for decades and has produced many short and self-contained stories collected in various volumes.
While working on Uzumaki, one of his longest-running and most famous stories, Netflix plans the anime Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre.
Which stories will get an adaptation?
The Junji Ito stories adapted into this anime will be taken from the various chapters and concluding volumes written by the author over the years. There will not be a common thread between episodes for many of them. After the first details are revealed, here is a list of other stories that will be transposed into the anime:

The animated show will include more than 20 stories, each with a unique subject. The primary themes of this collection will be horror, ghosts, death, nightmares, and demons.
