Through time, the Resident Evil franchise has gathered many fans worldwide, making all horror fans come together for the love of video games and a nice jump scare. The last couple of years has been particularly interesting, with a few Resident Evil announcements that are weeks away from their launch date.
If you have been following through on these updates on Resident Evil titles, then you surely want to know what went down at the Resident Evil Showcase.
Let’s take a jump in, shall we?
First off, Resident Evil Village Golden Edition Winters Expansion (rolls through your tongue smoothly, am I right?)
As you probably know by now, its launch date is set for next week, on October 28. During the showcase, we got a brand-new trailer. The recently revealed content included a brief description of what to expect from the upcoming Story Campaign Shadows of Rose.
Capcom focused on delivering character development with a purpose for this new Story Campaign. Rose is living with an unwanted power; she traces it back to its origins at “The Village,” where she will (re)live unrealistic and yet terrifying childhood trauma. Also, new characters will be available to explore different ways of playing Resident Evil.
Along comes the third-person POV that has been a topic of discussion recently. This is a mode that can be useful not just for the nostalgia of the original perspective but there’s another exciting way to see it. This POV also allows different gamers to enjoy the game without feeling overwhelmed by the view or getting dizzy while playing.
The new POV feature and Story Campaign Shadows of Rose are already available to try out in the demo version!
On a related topic, Resident Evil Village for Mac(OS) will also be available on October 28 worldwide, with the ultimate application of RE Engine, optimized to offer an excellent game experience. More info on this topic will be shared soon by Capcom.
And if you’re a Nintendo fan, don’t worry! You can play it on the Cloud version on the launch date! And just to make sure this version suits you, Resident Evil Village is only available if you play the demo before purchase. This makes it easier to decide if you’re comfortable with the game on your console.
On the last note related to Resident Evil Village, the showcase also displayed a brand-new trailer from RE: Verse, a free-to-play game included in Village. The video showed some of the crossplay features and promising updates coming soon. Early access will be available on October 24!
Not everything was about Residen Evil Village, though…
There were also some juicy details on the anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4. First off, a new gameplay trailer!
Exciting and frightening encounters, new graphics, a fresh experience, but a familiar feeling overall. The trailer also reveals new ways of combat and customizable weapons that will enhance your game time when the title comes out.
Oh, and two new editions of Resident Evil 4 were also announced! A Deluxe Edition and a Collectors Edition are both truly beautiful and perfect for each Resident Evil fan. The remake for Resident Evil 4 will launch on March 24. Pre-orders start today!
