Overwatch 2 has been giving a lot to talk about lately. The latest novelty of the video game is its Halloween event, one of the most anticipated events by fans of the game every year, due to its new content, especially the new thematic skins of characters.

However, this year, the event has left much desired in different aspects. First, the event is the same one we've seen in the game since the original Overwatch, so it's nothing new; second, the skins that showed Halloween themes are recycled from previous years, except for some new characters, and finally, prices.

Well, we already know that Blizzard changed the business model for Overwatch 2, now being a free-to-play game and adding a battle pass. So far, everything sounds good; since gamers are already used to various games with this same dynamic, the problem comes from the high prices of their content.

It is clear that Blizzard must monetize, but is it worth giving up eating for a week for a $26 skin?

THE OVERWATCH 2 COMMUNITY IS DISSATISFIED WITH THE HIGH PRICES

Previously, with the original game, players were used to receiving themed content for free just by doing missions or the requirements that the video game put on you to earn them. But, since it became known that the game would become free-to-play, it was natural to expect that thematic skins that were previously free would now have to be paid for.

In the Overwatch 2 store, most new skins for the Halloween event are priced around 2,000 in-game currency, which means approximately $20.

Here are some of the reactions from Overwatch 2 fans:

Something that not many of us had taken into account is that the prices are a steal:

And it is that as the following user says, you cannot have the option of getting the pure skin by itself; they sell you the complete bundle:

Also, if you analyze it, the price of 3 Overwatch skins is equivalent to a new video game.

Players are not happy with Overwatch 2's new monetization system. Will Blizzard listen to their community and fix the problem? It will be a matter of time to see the company's decisions.
