We know that Xbox has been having a great year because with so many titles coming to Xbox Game Pass and with the purchase process of Activision Blizzard, it seems that everything is going in order with the company, but what about the exclusives?
That is what Xbox fans have been wondering, as users have not been able to enjoy exclusive Xbox premieres, first-party titles that do not yet have a date.
For this same reason, Phil Spencer, boss of Xbox, knows that the community is concerned about the absence of exclusives, so he promised that they are preparing to offer a lot of content in 2023, which he assured in a recent interview.
SPENCER ADMITS XBOX HASN'T HAD A BIG EXCLUSIVE IN A LONG TIME
In a recent interview with Same Brain (via IGN), Spencer stated that he is aware of the comments and criticisms of the Xbox community, therefore, the manager decided to be clear and accepted that there was little first-party content, but stated that in 2023 it would be different.
“One thing we've heard loud and clear is that it's been too long since we've released what people would call a great first-party game. We might have excuses related to COVID and other things, but in the end, I know that people are invested in our platform and want to have great games," Spencer said.
Xbox has been heavily criticized in recent years for the management of its studies and projects. It currently has quite a few games in development, such as Starfield, Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Avowed, Perfect Dark, State of Decay III, and many, many others. However, none of them will arrive this year, and the vast majority do not have a release date.
Spencer reiterated that everyone is working to make 2023 a great year with great releases. Xbox is probably planning another round of major releases as it did in late 2021, but it's not yet clear which games will be ready for next year.
“We're excited about 2023. We've talked about games to come, and those games are doing well. Having the first first-party Xbox games from Bethesda, with Redfall and Starfield, will be great fun."
Microsoft’s Xbox chief: “One thing we’ve heard loud and clear is that it’s been too long since we shipped what people would say was a big first-party game.”
