By now, Sony has accustomed us to sudden announcements, and just in the course of the night, a wave of information regarding PlayStation VR2 arrived like a bolt from the blue, announcing its price and release date!
"Over the past several months, we've introduced PlayStation VR2 and provided glimpses into the next generation of virtual reality gaming, which will allow you to escape into new worlds while feeling a groundbreaking sense of immersion," the company said.
Is it really that expensive?
The Japanese giant has unveiled that the next-generation visor will reach all stores' shelves starting February 22, 2023. You probably won't be happy with the price since you will have to shell out more than you need for the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition to take home a unit of PSVR2.
The package will include PlayStation VR2, the stereo headset, and a pair of controllers, costing $549. For those curious about the price in other countries, the peripheral will cost £529.99/74,980 yen. This information comes directly from Sony's official Blog.

Anyone who wants to start playing right away will also be able to take advantage of the first bundle of the peripheral, which will be available for purchase from day one for $599.99. This will offer all the basic package contents plus a copy of Horizon Call of the Mountain (in digital format, with a code to be redeemed on the PS Store).
