2022 has been an interesting year for Nintendo, recently they shared their second-quarter financial results. We inform you before that the Japanese company reported a spike in their annual playing users.
Now, a business report extra to the main document noted the contrast between the Japanese and global markets making this comparison with the Splatoon 3 sales. Besides analyzing the behaviour of both, they shared the official numbers reached by the title, at least until September 2022.

According to the document, Splatoon 3 had an incredible performance worldwide, surpassing the numbers reached by its predecessor Splatoon 2. President of Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa said that the title broke Japan’s all-time launch sales figures record in September 2022.
In the first three days of its debut, it sold 3.45 million copies, however by now, Splatoon 3 have sold a combined 7.90 million units between markets within 21 days in September 2022. Of course, is worth noting that the game was launched very close to Xenoblade 3 and Kirby’s Dream Buffet, making this feat even greater.
We need to say that this is just the beginning and Splatoon 3 can still draw more players in. You never know, maybe next time we will see it as one of the Top 10 best-selling Switch games, only time and player’s interest will demonstrate it.
