Already a buzz over matchmaking problems in Apex Legends, the community of active gamers on Respawn's battle royale is back to criticizing the development team.
The spark for this new controversy is the sighting (by data miners) of a series of skins that will be offered free to players as Twitch drops.
A bug that caused players to lose their heads
These would include the Iced Out charm, the Cult Classic skin for Devotion, the Tribal Glyph for RE45 weapon skin, the Giggle Guard charm, and the Packaged charm. In the past, some of these cosmetic items had been offered for a fee within the Apex Legends store and, as a result, had been purchased by several players.
Following the leak regarding the Twitch drops, many users realized they were no longer in possession of the offending skins. Mysteriously, the items were, in fact, found to have disappeared from the inventories of those who had purchased them.
A circumstance that inflamed the spirits of the users involved, who accused Respawn of implementing an unfair maneuver. A controversy that was, however, immediately dampened by Josh Medina. Indeed, with a dry Tweet, the Apex Legends producer pointed out that it is simply a bug, which will presumably be fixed in a short time.
