It has finally arrived, Rainbow Six: Siege's fourth season of Year 7, initiating Operation Solar Raid. It is said to be the biggest season in years, and we can confirm there is a great amount of content and changes that Ubisoft worked on over the last year.
Here we will mention the main changes this new season brings for you to have a better idea of what to expect with this update before it comes out.
New map
It's time to move and investigate Nighthaven labs. This off-coast location is the point of origin for many technological marvels, you might love this place as you have the view of the open sea and all of the nature around, or you might even prefer its immaculate architecture and many prototypes on display. You can watch the video below that showcases this great map.
New operator
"Hailing from warm and colorful Colombia, the latest to integrate with team Rainbow is Operator Solis. A technological specialist, Solis brings advanced computer knowledge and uses her SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor's augmented reality to relay precise battlefield information to her team with a flick of her fingers."
You can watch an overview of the Operator and get to know more about her gadgets' functionality by watching the video below:
Crossplay and cross-progression
Cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation platforms is kicking in along with cross-progression, your progress, currencies, and items are shared across all platforms.
Ranked 2.0
As explained in the official notes, "your rank is no longer decided by your MMR, but by how many Rank Points you win or lose after every Ranked match. Each rank now has five divisions, and each division requires 100 Rank Points to advance to the next. A new rank called Emerald has been added between Platinum and Diamond."
Battle Pass evolution
Battle Pass has evolved from its linear system into one with branching paths. This brand-new system allows you to choose the path that gives you the rewards that better suit your preference. We had a previous news article talking about, and it can be read in here
There is even more!
As mentioned in the beginning, this is the biggest new season to date for R6S. There are even more changes that would need a great amount of information.
