The FTC had already its concerns on this possible acquisition, and now a recent decision has come to light with the Federal Trade Commission sue to Microsoft to block them from Activision Blizzard's acquisition.
As we have seen so far, the $69 billion deal from Microsoft to acquire one of the leaders in the gaming industry, Activision Blizzard, inc. along with its corresponding gaming industries, has been sued by the FTC as it "would enable Microsoft to suppress competitors" to its rapidly growing and evolving gaming services and consoles.
The Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition Holly Vedova stated the following:
“Microsoft has already shown that it can and will withhold content from its gaming rivals. Today we seek to stop Microsoft from gaining control over a leading independent game studio and using it to harm competition in multiple dynamic and fast-growing gaming markets.”
As a side note, it is mentioned in the official press release that an administrative complaint is issued by the Commission when there is “reason to believe” that the law has been or is being violated.
"The issuance of the administrative complaint marks the beginning of a proceeding in which the allegations will be tried in a formal hearing before an administrative law judge." With this in mind, we will read other updates regarding the sue in the following weeks.

Microsoft is in a position where it will be difficult to win against this lawsuit and even more difficult to acquire Activision Blizzard, turning a possibility into a dream for the company. But, is it possible that Microsoft can get out of this situation and come out as a winner?
