Contrary to the long wait for the announcement of MK12 suggested by Ed Boon by confirming the absence of Mortal Kombat 12 from The Game Awards 2022, we might not have to wait much longer before witnessing the official unveiling of NetherRealm Studios' new project.
Ed Boon teases fans on Twitter
This was made known by Ed Boon himself during a question-and-answer session organized on Twitter. The father of Mortal Kombat thus took the opportunity to tickle the curiosity of the many fans of the historical fighting series by offering some exciting anticipations about his next project.
According to the NetherRealm studios boss, the official announcement of his new video game will "probably" take place in the first half of 2023. But that's not all. Boon himself also explained to all fans eager to know the launch window of his next game that "I really shouldn't answer that," except to then add 'between the lines,' but unequivocally, the number '23' as a clue to the year of commercialization of this mysterious project.
MK11 support was the longest we supported a game. Next game should be even longer.
