The stances regarding the completion of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by the Redmond giant continue to alternate. After Spencer's statements on Sony and Microsoft exclusives, a statement from the AFL-CIO also arrives.
Indeed, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, which represents the largest labour consortium in the U.S., with more than 55 member unions to its credit, has decided to comment on the latest developments in the matter. In the person of President Liz Shuler, the organization called the Federal Trade Commission's decision to initiate an attempt to block the agreement between Activision Blizzard and Microsoft "disappointing."

What did they have to say?
The latter, says the AFL-CIO, "would create a stronger company and protect consumers by empowering workers. As with any takeover," Liz Shuler continues, "there are several factors to consider, but the needs of workers should be taken into account.''
'When workers are able to stand together, it creates a culture of checks and balances within a company that ultimately benefits consumers and the general public. Microsoft's proposed acquisition would give Activision Blizzard workers the freedom to unite in a union independent of the employer, giving them the ability to build a better company and act as a watchdog against unethical business practices."

In concluding the statement, the AFL-CIO says it is optimistic that the operation's favour with U.S. unions, the European Commission and other players will eventually overcome the FTC's resistance.
