Throughout history, gamers have faced various fears inherent in their hobby. One of the biggest is the loss of saved files. Nobody likes to lose progress in a game. However, this is even more serious for those who invest many hours of gaming in a particular game.
Among the games that require the most hours and dedication are sports games. Multiple sessions to master a style of play and be invincible against the CPU, your friends, and the rest of the world. If you are a Madden NFL player, EA has bad news.

EA lost thousands of save files
In case you have recently been playing Madden NFL 23, you should know that your save files have probably been corrupted and cannot be recovered in any way. According to Electronic Arts, the affected files correspond to the game's franchise mode due to a "data storage issue."
The players who lost files are those logged on in franchise leagues between approximately 2.45 pm ET / 11.45 am PT on December 28 and 12.45 am ET / 9.45 am PT on December 29.
“Unfortunately, if you logged into Franchise leagues during this time, your data was affected due to a data storage issue that resulted in Franchise files being corrupted,” the publisher said through the official forums.
“First off, we are sorry that this happened,” EA said. “We know how important your franchises are to you and we are actively working on a fix to restore some files via a backup as soon as possible. “However, not all affected leagues can be restored. The team is currently projecting around 40% of leagues to be recovered.”
The company hopes to be able to announce when 40% of players will be able to recover their progress. Likewise, if you are one of those who entered the mode during the mentioned period, EA invites you to start a new franchise.

Only in August 2022, the month of its release, Madden NFL 23 was the most purchased in the United States, according to NPD Group. Although the exact number of those affected is unknown, we are undoubtedly talking about thousands for whom this news will make them very sad (or mad).
