The Last of Us will be 10 years old on June 14, so Naughty Dog is already preparing some surprises to celebrate with all the fans. Through a statement, the studio welcomed 2023 and shared interesting details about the saga and its next multiplayer game.
Thanks to this, we know that the entire The Last of Us series has sold more than 37 million copies as of last December. Naughty Dog thanked the community for all their support over the years and confirmed that the series has a bright future.
“We are very proud to share that the entire The Last of Us franchise has sold more than 37 million copies worldwide since December 2022 and continues to reach new and returning players daily. Knowing that Joel, Ellie, and our entire cast of characters have been experienced and loved by so many of you drives the entire studio forward," the studio stated.
NAUGHTY DOG WILL REVEAL THE NEW MULTIPLAYER FOR THE LAST OF US THIS YEAR
Naughty Dog invited players to enjoy The Last of Us: Part I on PC, the HBO series, and some interviews that will be released soon when the next game in the franchise arrives, which will be a multiplayer project. There is good news for players who want to know more about this title, as the study confirmed that it would finally share details this year.
To be precise, we will know more about multiplayer at the end of 2023. Naughty Dog assured that it will be a "new and fresh" experience but that it will retain the studio's seal of quality in terms of story, gameplay, and characters.
He also took the opportunity to release new concept art for the project, led by creatives like Vinit Agarwal, Joe Pettinati, and Anthony Newman. He also anticipated that there will be "some fun surprises" towards the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the saga. Below you can see the image.

Thank you for your support and appreciation for the work our teams do. We hope you continue following us down this path, but don't forget to pack a brick or a bottle," the developer said.
