There was much anticipation for the arrival of The Callisto Protocol, a new Sci-Fi horror-tinged game described by Dead Space's creator as a quadruple-A production. Not everything went smoothly, with the game not being received with particular enthusiasm by critics and much of the user base.
It's not going as expected
Following the lukewarm reception received by Striking Distance's debut work, analysts also saw fit to revise their sales forecasts related to The Callisto Protocol.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the estimates underwent an abrupt downward adjustment within a month of the title's launch. "The company expected cumulative sales of 5 million copies, but considering the current sales ranking, the cumulative figures of 2 million copies will not be easy to reach until this year," said analyst firm Samsung Securities.

In case you missed it: Again! PlayStation exclusives lead DICE Awards nominations.
Some analysts, concerned by the low average obtained on Metacritic, attribute the game's uninspiring performance to the expectation that the gigantic production behind it had created. "The problem is that Krafton spent a considerable amount of money on the production of The Callisto Protocol," we read via a K-Odyssey report.
