A live-action series based on Spider-Man Noir is already being developed by Amazon. This after the company reached an agreement with Sony to produce content based on the Marvel characters from the Spiderverse to which they have the film rights.
According to information from Variety, the live-action Spider-Man Noir series will follow a version of the spider superhero who lives in 1930 New York. An important point is that this project will take place in its own universe and that this version of Spider-Man will not be Peter Parker.
Oren Uziel, known for his work on the script for The Cloverfield Paradox and Mortal Kombat, will be responsible for writing and producing Spider-Man Noir. For their part, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, producers of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, will also be involved as executive producers along with Amy Pascal, former head of Sony. The studio responsible for Sony Pictures Television will be Sony Pictures Television.
We remind you that this is not the first Spiderverse production that Sony and Amazon are doing together. What happens is that they are also developing SIlk: Spider Society, a series based on Silk.
WHAT IS SPIDER-MAN NOIR?
In case you don't know, Spider-Man Noir is a comic book series that debuted in 2009. This story is part of the Marvel Noire universe and leads us to meet a version of Spider-Man who lives in New York during the great Depression.
In Spider-Man Noir, the spidery hero gains his powers by being bitten by a spider that was inside a stolen artifact. The bite causes him to have visions of a spider god who gives him superpowers.
It is worth mentioning that this will not be the first time that we will see Spider-Man Noire in an adaptation. We say this since the character appeared in Into the Spider-Verse, a tape in which he was played by Nicolas Cage. Plus, we also got a chance to see him in Ultimate Spider-Man.
