When you hear the name Yoko Taro you surely expect something amazing; however, even so, we're sure you're not ready for what's next. It turns out that the creative responsible for Drakengard and NieR announced a new game, which is all about SEGA franchises that became cute waifus.
Yesterday morning, February 10, Yoko Taro and SEGA announced 404 Game Re:set. It's a game that takes place in a universe where things started to go too well for SEGA until they got out of control.
What will be this game about?
It turns out that the company has become a country that wants to control and deceive people to dominate the world. You, as the protagonist of this story, will do your best to fight and put an end to this dictatorship before it's too late.
Yoko Taro, who serves as the game’s creative director, said: “It’s a game that features Sega’s IP, so I thought Sega should be in the game, but I didn’t think Sega would want to see a game that portrayed it well, so I portrayed it negatively," Taro said in the announcement (as translated by VCG). “It’s a world that imagines that if things were to go well for Sega but then got out of control, it could end up like this.”
Luckily, in 404 Game Re:set you won't be alone, you will be accompanied by a selection of SEGA games that became waifus to be your allies in this fight. Thus, series such as After Burner, Out Run, Virtua Cop, and Virtua Fighter will take on a whole new form to fight with you. It is worth mentioning that future updates will include more waifus based on other SEGA franchises. So sooner or later your favorite will be part of this upcoming title.

404 Game Re:set is on its way to iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. After some time of its release, we can expect this title to become playable on PC as well as it has already happened with other mobile RPG games.
