For better or worse, DLC is one of the most common practices in the video game industry. Despite showing resistance, Nintendo gradually embraced it and now many of its games receive additional content, both paid and free, after launch.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is easily one of the most anticipated games of recent years. Its release seems imminent, so fans should prepare to live a new adventure in Hyrule. Now, will you receive DLC at some point? Everything seems to indicate yes.

As the Insider Gaming portal discovered, the official page of the open-world video game presents a short text at the bottom indicating that there will be additional content. “The full version of the game is required to use DLC. Sold separately".
It is important to note that the website does not reveal more information about the downloadable content that will arrive in Link's journey, so its nature and the release window are unknown. This is not surprising, especially considering that Nintendo is very careful and refrains from revealing many details of its next big release.
We must remember that the first installment, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, received paid DLC during its life cycle. Specifically, it had an Expansion Pack that included 2 packs: The Master Trials and The Champions's Ballad, which include new story content, combat-focused challenges, a motorcycle for Link, and more. It is unknown if there will be something similar in the sequel.
While the presence of additional content will disappoint a section of the community, we must remember that other recent Nintendo releases like Splatoon 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 have DLC.
