Microsoft pledged to bring Call of Duty to Switch and Nintendo's next consoles for a decade. However, there are many doubts about this, as we know that Activision tried and failed due to the technical limitations of the hybrid system.
For this reason, regulators believe that Microsoft will not be able to keep its word and, much less, its promise of parity in terms of options, content, and quality. However, the company has full confidence in Activision and has just affirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are possible on Switch natively.
In new statements for the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Microsoft said that native versions of Call of Duty for Switch are entirely viable. So alternatives such as the use of the cloud would not be necessary to bring the saga with parity to Nintendo's console.
To exemplify its point, the company mentioned the ports of Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite, and Crysis 3, titles that run natively on Switch, with their respective adjustments, of course.
Microsoft believes that Activision could follow suit to launch Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the hybrid console. This is even though the developer has already accepted that it had problems when trying to bring the franchise to Nintendo.
"The Activision development team has a long history of optimizing game performance for available hardware capabilities," Microsoft said.
It added that Warzone would not be a problem for Switch, as the game runs on computers "with GPU cards that were released as far back as 2015." It also notes that its engine has been optimized to run on a wide range of devices, so it could be further adjusted to come to Switch.
"The Parties are confident that in addition to Warzone, CoD buy-to-play titles (e.g., CoD: Modern Warfare 2) can be optimized to run on the Nintendo Switch promptly using standard techniques which have been used to bring games such as Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite and Crysis 3 to the Switch," Microsoft concluded.

With this information in mind we can not get our hopes up that a definitive working port will be made, we have only obtained facts that confirm the possibility and feasibility that a stable CoD port for Nintendo Switch is not at all impossible. But Activision may not think to keep this possibility in the air and at some point, we could see a future announcement of this port become a reality.
