Recently there have been rumors that there would soon be what some believe would be the PlayStation 5 Pro that may include 8K support. Today a report has been obtained that could be considered a reliable one that claims this as a reality.
In an article published on Insider Gaming, Tom Henderson, one of the industry's most trusted journalists, claimed that the PlayStation 5 Pro is a reality. According to his sources, this new Sony console is being developed to be released by the end of 2024.
Why is Sony releasing 2 new PlayStation 5 models?
Although not many details are yet known about the PlayStation 5 Pro, it is believed that it will feature technology that will improve ray tracing performance in video games. In addition, the new console is expected to have better graphics, performance, and speed.
It is important to note that the new PlayStation 5 Pro would be a revision that will update the hardware mid-generation, as the launch of the next PlayStation is still a long time away. According to Henderson's source, the PlayStation 6 will not arrive until 2028, so the life cycle of the PlayStation 5 will be at least 8 years if this information is correct.
The reason is that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be a premium revision, while the detachable disc drive version will be a cheaper revision that will gradually replace the original model. Kind of like what the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 4 Slim were last generations.

It should be noted that although the source of the leak is reliable, it does not guarantee 100% the truthfulness of the information, remember that it is a rumor and Sony will officially announce this information in due course if it is indeed something true.
