According to recent rumors, Sony has a secret hardware that would arrive before the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro. Thanks to a new report, we know that it would be a new portable console, but it may disappoint fans as it would not be what many are expecting.
According to Tom Henderson, a journalist at Insider Gaming, Sony is working on a portable console codenamed Q Lite, which would not be a conventional console as such, nor a cloud gaming device. In reality, it would depend on PlayStation 5, as it would focus on the use of the Remote Play function. Thus, it would require constant internet connection.
HOW WOULD THE Q LITE, THE NEW PORTABLE PLAYSTATION CONSOLE, WORK?
According to the new report, the Q Lite has been in development for some time and is currently in its quality control phase. There is still no possible release date, but Henderson claims it will arrive before the PlayStation 5 Pro and after the PlayStation 5 with a removable disk.
So, what would the device look like and how would it work? The source revealed that Q Lite prototypes look quite similar to a DualSense, but with an 8-inch LCD touchscreen in the center. The system would have technology from the PS5 controller, so it would offer haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
It would also have the classic brand buttons, speakers, a headphone jack, and buttons to control the volume. As we mentioned, it would focus on the Remote Play function, already compatible with various mobile devices and PCs. The Q Lite would take advantage of it to offer a 1080p and 60 fps stream.
Therefore, the device would allow playing PlayStation 5 titles portably as long as there is constant internet access. For now, there is no more information about its technical specifications, its operation, or leaked images.
It is important to clarify that Sony has not confirmed or hinted at this project. Therefore, it is best to wait for more information to emerge. We will keep you informed of any news.
