Unfortunately for fans, Halo is not going through its best moment. Joseph Staten's departure from Xbox and Microsoft was recently confirmed. Now, reports indicate that there is another important casualty for the franchise, as its creative director apparently also left the companies.
We are referring to Frank O'Connor, who has worked on the franchise for almost 2 decades. According to Windows Central, the creative recently modified his LinkedIn profile, where he is no longer listed as the franchise director of the saga at present. In his place is a new undisclosed position, suggesting that his days with Halo may have come to an end.
Frank O'Connor apparently left Microsoft and Halo
If the creative's name doesn't seem familiar to you, you should know that O'Connor has worked on Halo since 2004. He was in the Bungie era and, later, in 2008 he joined Microsoft to take charge of many aspects related to the narrative side of the popular franchise.
Thus, as part of 343 Industries he did a fundamental work for the growth of the saga in all areas. O'Connor has been in charge of several games, novel adaptations and also collaborated in the narrative of the Halo TV series.
As of this writing, O'Connor has not confirmed his departure from Microsoft as such nor has he discussed the changes to his LinkedIn profile. However, it is suspected that the news will be made official soon and Halo will be without another of its legends.
For now there is nothing left to do but wait for the creative or Microsoft to talk about it. If confirmed, it will undoubtedly be another bad news for fans of the saga. Mainly because of everything that has happened recently at 343 Industries and what happened with Halo Infinite during its release.
