While Xbox's upcoming release schedule isn't as extensive as some fans would like, there are certainly some titles that are highly anticipated. One of them is Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Since its reveal in 2019, the game has offered few updates, but a new clue suggests it could be ready before 2024.
The announcement of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II has been criticized by some because it was unveiled at The Game Awards 2019 as an Xbox Series X|S game and has yet to debut; in fact, the game still has no release date or window, and the only thing known is that it will come to Xbox's current-generation consoles and PC, and will be available on day one through Xbox Game Pass.
However, what is catching the attention of those eagerly anticipating Senua's new adventure is a new trailer that Xbox just released about Xbox Game Pass.
We say this because the trailer only features titles that are already available on the service or that will arrive at some point in 2023... except for Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, which still has no confirmed date, but the trailer suggests it could be scheduled for before 2024, as pointed out by Twitter user klobrille.
Obviously, the above is just speculation as neither Xbox nor Ninja Theory have spoken about a release window, let alone a release date for their next project.
However, it is strange that Xbox included footage of the game in a trailer that solely focuses on games that are already available on Xbox Game Pass or soon will be.
The last we heard about Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is that Ninja Theory is still working on it, experimenting with food to recreate game environments and then transferring them into the game using photogrammetry.
