Projects like Sonic the Hedgehog, The Last of Us, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie have shown us that video games can be successfully adapted to other mediums. That's why it's no surprise that several companies are jumping on board, and new information suggests that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Ghost of Tsushima could receive anime adaptations.
Here's what happened: @oecuf0, a Twitter account with a track record of leaking future anime projects, began hinting that an anime based on a popular video game was on the way. First, they dropped a clue indicating that it involved a couple of anime projects based on Japanese culture-influenced video games.
After several days of letting their community scratch their heads looking for a solution, @oecuf0 decided to talk about the information they received. According to them, there is an anime series based on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in the works, being produced by a Japanese studio, and its announcement will be made soon.
In another tweet, @oecuf0 pointed out that an anime based on Ghost of Tsushima, PlayStation's exclusive open-world game, is also in the works. Unfortunately, they didn't share any further details, so we'll have to wait.
While the information comes from an account that has leaked correct information before, the reality is that these projects have not been confirmed. So we recommend taking it as a rumor until it becomes official (if that ever happens). We'll keep an eye out and let you know when we know more.
