Cyberpunk 2077's path to redemption will end with the release of Phantom Liberty, its only expansion, which will mark the end of the creative cycle and leave the rest for improvement updates and bug fixes. CD Projekt's goal is to launch this story starring Idris Elba's character later this year, and there is interesting information about it.
PHANTOM LIBERTY, CYBERPUNK 2077 EXPANSION, COULD HAVE A SURPRISE DEBUT
Almost 3 years after its infamous release, Cyberpunk 2077 is once again in the spotlight due to the upcoming release of its expansion. So far, there is no release date, but the season of important announcements is approaching and the expectation is that the Polish company will not miss the opportunity. According to a report from The Gamer, the hosts of a Polish video game podcast hinted that Phantom Liberty could debut at any time between June 8th and early July, based on information leaked by their sources.

Furthermore, one of the members of this podcast stated that CD Projekt invited him to a special event that would take place on June 8th, the day of Summer Game Fest 2023, so it is expected that the Polish studio will reveal the release date of Phantom Liberty there.
However, the most exciting news is the suggestion from these podcasters that the release of Phantom Liberty could happen immediately as a shadow drop, similar to what happened with Xbox and Tango Gameworks when they announced the immediate release of HI-FI Rush. It should be noted that Phantom Liberty will be paid DLC.
