Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated video games of this year. While we are getting closer to its release date, it is true that there are still many unanswered questions. We'll have to wait a little longer for more information, but Jim Ryan, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, provided a minor update.
During a recent interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, the executive discussed various topics related to the PlayStation brand. At one point in the conversation, he was asked to share his opinion on the work done by Insomniac Games with the new videogame of the arachnid superhero.
MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN 2 WILL BE A PS5 EXCLUSIVE, AND THAT SEEMS TO BE A GOOD THING
Of course, Jim Ryan refrained from revealing substantial details about the state of the project, but he assured that it will be "a very exciting release." Furthermore, he recalled that the 2017 installment that debuted on PlayStation 4 was a great success and reached millions of players.
Next, the head of SIE affirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be exclusive to PlayStation 5, so the development was done "without compromises" due to the absence of a PS4 version. He mentions that Insomniac Games was asked to take advantage of the new technical capabilities offered by the next-generation hardware.
Finally, Jim Ryan assures that he has received extremely positive feedback regarding the video game, so he anticipates that it will be a "beautiful" and "impressive" experience.
Although Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will debut at some point this fall, Insomniac Games has not yet shared an official preview that showcases the gameplay and narrative. That could change very soon, as a new edition of the PlayStation Showcase will take place on May 24. Will we see this open-world title in action there?
But tell us, are you excited about this new game inspired by the arachnid superhero? Do you think it will meet fans' expectations? Do you think it's right to leave aside the previous generation version? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
