Tati Gabrielle is ready to appear in another video game adaptation

Undoubtedly, it has been days filled with adrenaline and excitement for Mortal Kombat fans. Not only Warner Bros. Games Shared the first previews and official details of the new video game in the franchise, but there were also updates regarding the sequel to the cinematic reboot.

In case you've forgotten, the Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios franchise made its second jump to the big screen in 2021 with a live-action film that, despite receiving mixed reviews and having a moderate box office performance, became one of HBO Max's biggest successes.

The sequel was given the green light last year, and new details about this cinematic production are gradually coming to light. Now, a recent report has revealed that an actress who participated in another popular video game adaptation could join the cast and play one of the most popular characters in the fighting IP.

TATI GABRIELLE, ACTRESS FROM UNCHARTED, TO PORTRAY JADE IN MORTAL KOMBAT 2

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, actress Tati Gabrielle, who played the villain Jo Braddock in the live-action film adaptation of Uncharted starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, is in final talks to portray Jade in the new Mortal Kombat movie.

In addition to her role in the Naughty Dog video game adaptation, Tati Gabrielle is known for her roles in productions such as You, The Owl House, The 100 and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

The actress's participation in the Mortal Kombat film seems almost certain, as Ed Boon, co-creator of the franchise, shared the news on his Twitter account.

A recent report indicated that filming for the feature-length film will begin in June 2023 and last until later that year in Australia, the same location where the first film was shot. Simon McQuoid returns to take on the role of director, while Todd Garner will do the same in the producer's role.

Regarding the new additions to the cast, a report suggested that Karl Urban, famous for his roles in The Boys, Dredd, DOOM, and more, could portray Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat sequel.
