There is a lot of noise indicating that a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is about to be announced. We still don't know if that's true or not, but a new rumor suggests that Konami's intention is to bring Metal Gear back in a big way.
According to information from Jez Corden, editor of Windows Central, the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is just one part of Konami's plans for the return of Metal Gear. In fact, the company is also considering bringing back Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
According to Corden's sources, Konami plans to release a classic Metal Gear Solid collection. In it, players could get the original versions of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater to play on modern platforms. This collection is expected to be announced at some point in June.
As an update to this, I've heard that in addition to Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, there will also be a new Classic Collection that comprises MGS1, 2, and 3.

Apparently, Konami's plans do not end there. Corden heard that Konami could release a second volume of this collection, which would include other releases such as Metal Gear Rising, Peace Walker, and Portable Ops. Unfortunately, there are no indications that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will receive any kind of re-release.
However, it is worth noting that this is only a rumor, especially the last reported by Corden. We will keep you posted and inform you when we know more about it.
And you, would you like a remastered Metal Gear collection? Do you think it would be a success? Let us know in the comments.
