In the end, the rumors turned out to be true. After months of speculation and theories, Konami confirmed during the latest PlayStation Showcase that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will have a remake. The excitement is palpable, but there are still many doubts about the project.
Of course, the franchise is closely linked to its creator, Hideo Kojima. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before players began to question whether the Japanese creative is involved in any way in the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the name given to the new version of the 2004 classic.
IS HIDEO KOJIMA INVOLVED IN THE REMAKE OF METAL GEAR SOLID 3: REMAKE? KONAMI SHARES BITTERSWEET NEWS
Shortly after the official reveal, Konami shared more information about the remake. Thus, they revealed that an internal development group, alongside developers from Virtuos, are responsible for this ambitious project. Likewise, they confirmed that the original voice actor for Snake, David Hayter, will return.
Now, did Hideo Kojima work on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater? Through a report from the IGN Japan portal, a company spokesperson confirmed that neither the franchise creator nor artist Yoji Shinkawa are involved in the project. However, the spokesperson reaffirmed that the developers in charge did participate in previous titles.
Finally, the Konami spokesperson commented that the Virtuos studio also worked on the production of other installments in the IP.
While the absence of Hideo Kojima will disappoint a sector of the fan base, the truth is that the Japanese creative is very busy with his own projects. We must remember that he is working on Death Stranding 2 and a new exclusive title with Xbox.
But tell us, do you think it is a bad sign that the director is not involved in the remake? Let us know in the comments.
