Insomniac Games revealed more information about Marvel's Spider-Man 2 during Summer Game Fest 2023. One detail in particular intrigued players and fans of the superhero, as it was confirmed that Venom will not be Eddie Brock, who canonically has been the symbiote.
Because of this, fans have been looking for clues to find out who will become the powerful villain in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Currently, the community already has several clues involving other important characters in the Spider-Man universe.
Who will be Venom in Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
The most recent gameplay of the sequel suggested that Peter Parker will be at risk for using the symbiote's power and that Miles Morales will do his best to keep his partner from being corrupted. However, all indications are that Parker will ultimately fight Venom alongside Morales.
Despite this, some players believe that Parker could be Venom and that he will have an epic battle against Morales, who will try to save his partner. On the other hand, there are also fans who suspect that the villain will be Harry Osborn due to what happened in previous games.
It is believed that Norman Osborn could use a treatment based on the symbiote to try to cure his son, which would unleash the catastrophe and give way to Venom. It is also thought that Norman himself could become the villain, as Insomniac has indicated that it wants to tell an original story in the sequel.
On the other hand, there are also theories involving other iconic villains from the franchise. Some fans believe that Kraven, an already confirmed antagonist, will become Venom somewhere in the story to take down Peter and Miles.
There are even people who believe that Insomniac will bring back Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk and give him a bigger role to turn him into Venom. The reality is that for now it is not confirmed who the symbiote will be, but surely the developers prepared a big surprise for the players.
