CS:GO player dies in the war between Ukraine and Russia
The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community took to social media to mourn the passing of Ostap "Oni" Onistrat, a 21-year-old player and streamer from Ukraine who was called up by his country's army to join its ranks and fight against Russia's offensive. The sad news was shared by his father, also a member of the armed forces, on his Instagram account, who recounted some anecdotes and his son's interest in weapons, something that also caught his attention in a game like CS:GO.
In addition to lamenting the death of Ostap "Oni" Onistrat, the community criticized tournaments where Russian players are still accepted and called for them to no longer have a presence in the European competitive scene. At the same time, some players considered that Ostap "Oni" Onistrat should be considered a hero for losing his life defending his country.

The war between Ukraine and Russia has had an impact on gaming and its various sectors, as shown by what has happened with GSC Game World and its highly anticipated game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, as they have had to deal with the war being from Ukraine, and have also faced constant attacks from Russian hackers who hacked their internal system and put development versions of this title on the internet.
