ATLUS wanted to keep details from the original experience but make it more accessible

ATLUS has finally confirmed that Persona 3 will return with a remake. However, if you are one of those players who love every aspect of it, we have news that you might not like, as Persona 3 Reload will not preserve the original gameplay but will have some changes that fans of the series' modern titles will appreciate.

We say this because ATLUS prepared several changes with accessibility and quality of life in mind for the players. Perhaps the most important change is the elimination of the fatigue system, which will make Persona 3 Reload feel like a modern game in the series.

Why will Persona 3 Reload be easier than the original?

In case you didn't know, Tartarus is a part of Thanatos Tower. Players could explore or fight in this place, but the longer they stayed there, the characters could become fatigued, which could make them feel sick the next day and lower their stats, making battles with enemies more challenging. The only way to face the challenges of Tartarus was to rest the night before to be in a better condition.

Thus, a key part of Persona 3 was time management, so whether you enjoyed it or not, it won't be a concern anymore in Persona 3 Reload.

With the remake, ATLUS wanted to maintain certain characteristics of Tartartus while also applying some quality-of-life improvements, such as sporadic conversations to avoid monotony as you progress through the place and make the exploration experience better overall.

Improving friendships with characters will also be easier in Persona 3 Reload

Additionally, the project managers mentioned in an interview with 4Gamer (via Siliconera) that Persona 3 Reload will be the game in the series with the most voice acting because all Social Link conversations will have recorded dialogue.

It was also revealed that there will be new scenes to explore the world and the dynamics between its characters. The protagonist in the original Persona 3 could not establish Social Links with the boys, but in the remake, it will be possible to deepen their friendship through these new scenes.

Likewise, it will be easier to maximize Social Links in a single campaign. This was not impossible in the original Persona 3, but it was extremely complicated due to time management and correct dialogue choices. In Persona 3 Reload, while it won't be a cakewalk, it will be easier, something similar to what was seen in Persona 5 Royal.

What do you think of the changes to Persona 3? Let us know in the comments.

Persona 3 Reload is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and is expected to debut sometime in early 2024.
