Sarah Bond spoke about Arkane Austin's recent stumble

Sarah Bond, corporate vice president of Xbox, recently spoke about the criticism of Redfall after its troubled launch. The executive is aware that Arkane Austin's title did not live up to expectations; however, she believes there is something positive in the whole situation.

From his perspective, the criticism from gamers is a sign of their enormous passion and enthusiasm for video games. For that reason, he believes there is a kind of love for the titles and for Xbox even when things don't go quite right.

During an interview with CNN, Bond spoke briefly about the reception of the vampire shooter. She knows that things didn't go quite right, so she clarified that sometimes it takes years to create great games.
On the other hand, she is sure that gamers believe in Xbox despite its stumbles, because they want everything to go right as fans of the brand. From this perspective, Bond sees the reviews as a show of passion and, to some extent, support.

“[Our fans] are deeply, deeply passionate. So even when things happen that aren’t the way we wanted them to go, the passion, the reaction that you see in that, what I actually see is love.

They believe in us; they want it to work so badly. But I think the thing that it’s important to realize is it takes years and years and years to build great games and to build the type of portfolio that we got to share with you today," the executive said.

Earlier, other Xbox executives, such as Phil Spencer and Matt Booty, also spoke about the reception of Redfall. They accepted that the project management was not the best and that they could have worked more closely with Arkane Austin to ensure everything was on track.
