Bethesda will sooner or later reveal Fallout 5 and fulfill the dream of many gamers. Tim Cain, creator of the franchise, is excitedly awaiting such a moment, but he's also worried about what might happen.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, the developer was anxious about the future of the saga and what awaits fans with Fallout 5. The creative fears that the new installment will reduce certain key elements of the franchise or even disappear.

Tim Cain fears that Fallout 5 will lose key elements

From Cain's perspective, there is a possibility that Bethesda will get rid of certain features of the saga for Fallout 5. His biggest fear is that the new installment will rely only on perks for characters and either go without SPECIAL or have a scaled-down version of this iconic attribute system.

"I'm concerned about Fallout 5 directly. Yes, I watch all the Fallouts and I see what they do. Fallout 3 got rid of traits, and I really like traits. I think they're wonderful things you balance in character creation. Then Fallout 4 got rid of skills. They're just gone," Cain said.

For that reason, the creative wouldn't want Fallout 5 to be without more key SPECIAL components. He believes this will affect the overall character creation system, which would detract from the fun and challenge of the entire experience.

"I don't know what's going on there, but there certainly is a trend to eliminate choice at character creation. And I'll also say that I really prefer games now that offer some kind of negative characteristics. I like flaws, I like weaknesses, I like low attributes (...) I like that because it makes characters much more fun and much more challenging to play," Cain added.

For now, it seems that it is too early to talk about Fallout 5 and what it will offer players. Despite this, a large number of fans of the franchise are likely to agree with the developer.
