Mortal Kombat 1 is one of the most anticipated releases of the second half of the year. Fans are eager to find out which characters will be in the initial roster and those that will join via DLC. There are still many uncertainties, but a supposed new clue suggests that a popular comic book character will be in the game.
Shortly after the game's official reveal, Amazon Italy leaked the alleged DLC characters that will make up the first Kombat Pack. The list includes well-known fighters such as Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda, but also guest fighters like Omni Man from Invincible, Peacemaker from DC Comics, and Homelander from The Boys.
The veracity of this leak is still in doubt, but a new clue seems to indicate that at least one fighter from the list has a chance of appearing in the NetherRealm Studios' video game. But is it true?
Fans believe Homelander could be a DLC character in Mortal Kombat 1
This week, Activision confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will have a special collaboration with The Boys. The supposed TikTok account of the series ― which is a parody of the fictional production company Vought International Studios ― shared a video that gives a small glimpse of the skins that will be coming to the game.
In the comments section, a fan referenced the Mortal Kombat 1 leak; the TikTok account responded and said, "MK Confirmed." In a subsequent comment, they indicated that "Homelander will be available at some point, that's all we can say."
Thus, the statements from the The Boys account seem to confirm that the infamous superhero Homelander will arrive in NetherRealm Studios' fighting video game at some point. However, it is unknown if the profile is official. If we visit the Vought International Studios website, there is no associated TikTok account.
According to the famous insider Thethiny, the people in charge of the TikTok profile contacted him and said they are not affiliated with Vought International Studios accounts. Therefore, it is still a mystery whether the character from the Prime Video series will be in the fighting game. In any case, it is recommended to wait for an official announcement from Ed Boon and his team.
Alright so I've got bad news. The tik tok account just told me that he's not affiliated with the official Vought accounts, therefore the MK comment was just play pretend. I have taken the tweets down. Apologies to everyone misled by the pictures.
