Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes in the world and has millions of fans of all ages. Many of them have fantasized about the idea of having powers similar to those of the arachnid and, some, have tried to obtain them in strange ways.
This is the case of an 8-year-old boy who let himself be bitten by a dangerous spider in the hope of gaining the abilities of his favorite superhero. Unfortunately, the young boy from Bolivia got an unpleasant surprise, as he was bitten by a black widow.
Child who wanted to be Spider-Man ended up in the hospital
According to details, the boy found the spider while playing on the banks of a river. It was then that he had the idea of becoming Spider-Man, so he did his best to get the animal to bite him on the hand. Subsequently, he captured the arachnid and took it home in a jar.
The symptoms started in no time, as the young man began to feel a nagging pain in his body. In case you don't know, the black widow is a dangerous arachnid because of its venom, which can cause intense pain, muscle cramps and even breathing difficulties.
The young man's condition worsened, so he had to tell his parents what had happened. Fortunately, his family acted quickly and took him to a hospital, where he was treated and removed from harm's way. The boy was given an antidote that quickly neutralized the poison.
Afterwards, the boy made a confession that explained everything: "I wanted to become Spider-Man", said the 8-year-old. His mom revealed that he has always been a big fan of the superhero and loves all his movies.
"He wanted to become Spider-Man. These red-backed black arachnids are black widows that do not cause any effect to become Spider-Man, on the contrary, they are putting his life at risk," said one of the doctors who treated the young boy.
