PlayStation is putting significant effort into expanding its franchises into the world of film and television. They have already successfully done so with several series, and it seems they're hinting at what's to come with their own adaptations.
Through PlayStation Productions, Sony has adapted series such as The Last of Us, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, and even Twisted Metal. There are other projects in the works that, while not yet in production, have already been planned and confirmed, such as adaptations of Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, and Horizon.
Is PlayStation Productions Working on MediEvil and Days Gone Adaptations?
Sony appears to have more undisclosed projects in the pipeline, potentially involving film or series adaptations of two franchises that might not be as popular but are dearly loved.
We're talking about the franchises starring Sir Daniel Fortesque and Deacon St. John, namely MediEvil and Days Gone, respectively.
This speculation arises from a clue that fans believe Sony is providing in a new video available on the official PlayStation Productions website.
In the video, the studio shares its vision while showcasing an animated sequence that reveals the level of dedication being poured into these cinematic projects. Interestingly, various PlayStation series models appear, with productions either already released or confirmed.
But it's possible to spot what seem to be the legs of Sir Daniel Fortesque, and toward the end, Deacon St. John can be glimpsed alongside other brand icons.
This has led fans to speculate that PlayStation Productions might indeed be working on adaptations of these series.
Further adding to the speculation, as noted by Push Square, is that in a Twitter conversation (X), Chris Amick and Ben Mekler, both writers for animated series like Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and Final Space (as reported by Video Games Chronicle), hinted that they could be involved in the MediEvil project.
As of now, Sony has not officially addressed this, so we can only speculate. We'll keep you informed.
