Xbox and Larian Studios announced this week that they reached an agreement to release Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox Series X|S this year and not wait until 2024. The news delighted and took Xbox users by surprise, who had been left with the idea that the RPG would be slow in coming to their consoles.
This morning, Xbox took advantage of the enthusiasm of its community to boast that Baldur's Gate 3 is already on its way to Xbox Series X|S. It also took the opportunity to confirm other excellent news that will undoubtedly thrill gamers.
Xbox makes a promise related to Baldur's Gate 3
Larian confirmed that Baldur's Gate 3 will come to Xbox Series X|S this year, but to achieve this requires making a sacrifice: the version for the less powerful console will not have the split-screen option. This will allow to speed up development and launch the game on the Xbox ecosystem in 2023.
Xbox celebrated the news in a big way, as it knows its gamers are eagerly awaiting Baldur's Gate 3. The company today revealed another surprise for its community, as it confirmed that the Xbox Series S version will sooner or later receive split-screen.
This means that it will have the same content as on Xbox Series X and the parity that the company promised since the beginning of the generation will be respected. While the feature may take some time to arrive and will not be ready for launch, it is a fact that Xbox and Larian are already working to find an alternative.
"To answer some questions we're getting, we'll continue to work with Larian to explore the addition of split-screen on Series S post launch," Xbox stated.
The information was very well received by gamers, who hope that the companies will find a solution and not take too long to fulfill their promise.
