REPORT: Nintendo already showed the potential of Switch 2 with Zelda and tech demos

Several sources claim that the console will debut next year

Several reports claim that Nintendo showed the Switch 2 behind closed doors during gamescom 2023. This morning more information on the matter came to light, as new sources claim that the hardware was indeed at the German event with several tech demos.

According to the information, Nintendo supposedly showed several games to demonstrate the potential of its new console that, according to various sources, will hit the market next year.

Switch 2 was at gamescom 2023 with these games, according to report

Eurogamer and VGC published reports this morning that got Nintendo fans excited, as they reveal information about the Switch 2 demos that were held recently. Sources claim that Nintendo showed off an enhanced version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for its new hardware.

This demo ran the title at a higher frame rate per second and higher resolution compared to its current Switch version. It is specified that it was only a demo to test the new system, so it is no guarantee that this Link adventure will be re-released on Switch 2.

On the other hand, they claim that Nintendo also showed off the potential of its new hardware with The Matrix Awakens, Epic Games' tech demo that was used a few years ago to show off the power of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

So, it is speculated that Nintendo's next console will go for power to get closer to its competitors. Reports mention the use of Nvidia's DLSS technology in the said tech demo, so there was ray tracing and complex visual effects in the demo.

While the data comes from very reliable sources, the reality is that it is still too early to talk precisely about all that the successor to Switch will offer in terms of power and more features.
