To no one's surprise, Starfield has already been the victim of review bombing on Metacritic. As soon as the platform allowed players to give their opinion on the RPG, the red notes started to appear and multiply by the bucketload.
Because of this, Bethesda's game registers more than 1300 negative ratings and is full of 0's. As you can imagine, the vast majority of reviews are meaningless, as they only criticize the title with the goal of lowering its score as much as possible. This is part of a boycott that has been planned for months.
Starfield is a victim of review bombing
In case you don't remember, haters claimed weeks ago that they had hundreds of accounts ready to review bomb the game as soon as possible. Apparently, they weren't lying, as Starfield currently registers ratings of 6.1 (Xbox Series X|S) and 5.4 (PC) from gamers.
The vast majority of negative reviews are filled with comments against Bethesda and Xbox. Some users argue that it's Bethesda's worst game and someone even claimed that it's like an Redfall in the space.
There were also complaints about some gameplay mechanics and systems that allegedly feel outdated and completely ruin the experience.
"Boring, bland, soulless and devoid of any fun. Truly a game to not waste ones money on. I reached breaking point after 5 hours and uninstalled. What a joke, all these years and you get a fake space backdrop exploration," says one of the reviews.
"A Redfall from space, lies, loading screens, lies, They promised a lot of things and delivered almost nothing, many loading screens damaging the immersion, very weak level design of the story", stated another player.
On the other hand, the RPG has received more than 1300 positive reviews from players. Part of the community praised its mechanics, its scope and its great setting. Likewise, the title has just over 200 mixed reviews.
