SEGA is one of the companies with a rich history in the video game industry and seizes any opportunity to celebrate the legacy of its franchises. An example of this is the homage it will pay to one of its best classic racing games, thanks to which it will finally make its way to consoles.
The story of Daytona USA 2 is quite interesting as it is a classic racing title from 1998 that was popular in arcades but was never officially adapted for consoles by SEGA, making it one of the company's most challenging games to play through official means.
How to play the arcade title Daytona USA 2 on consoles?
It seemed like the game would never receive a console port, but in the end, SEGA will make it happen through its upcoming game Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
This will be possible because the game's development studio, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, included a functional mini-game within the game that players can enjoy, which will be called "Sega Racing Classic 2," according to Famitsu (via Video Games Chronicle).
Despite having a different name, it is Daytona USA 2, with SEGA changing the name to avoid potential copyright issues and legal disputes.
But that's not all; according to the details, two other arcade games that will appear in the new Like a Dragon are Fighting Vipers 2, Flicky, and Galaxy Force.
The idea of playing one game within another game may seem unusual, but for SEGA, it's something they have done regularly in their modern action games, including titles like Outrun (in Judgment) and even several from the Master System (in Judgment 2).

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will debut on November 9th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
