The Nintendo Direct was full of exciting announcements; however, one disappointed the company's fans. For years, gamers have been asking for the return of F-Zero, the futuristic racing franchise. While the franchise was at the presentation, its announcement didn't leave everyone happy.
This is because Nintendo announced F-Zero 99, a Battle Royale version of the original SNES game. Social networks were soon filled with criticism of this project, as many did not like its concept or expected a new installment as such.
Fans are disappointed with F-Zero 99
Days before the event, an insider suggested that there would be franchise news at the Direct. So fans thought about the possibility of a new installment or F-Zero GX re-release. Partly because of this, their disappointment was greater when they saw F-Zero 99.
Many gamers showed their discontent on social media. Some stated that they are not pleased to see that the iconic franchise is now a Battle Royale. On the other hand, there are also annoyed fans, but who assure that they will at least give the game a chance.
Likewise, there are happy people, as they feel that Nintendo remembered the franchise. So they will play F-Zero 99 despite everything. The networks were filled with all kinds of comments and, of course, the jokes were not lacking.
"I think a F-Zero 99 is appropriate, so the 99 F-Zero fans can play each other," said one gamer in a sarcastic tone.
"F-Zero is coming back with a like Battle Royale, the pinnacle of gaming," stated another fan who was also not happy with the announcement.
"I was excited for a second when Mute City came out.... But then they show that it's a Battle Royale for online subscription.... Well, at least there's already a sliver of hope for a future installment in the coming years," said another comment.
